Day Three (Monday 10/30/2023)
Normally, Monday’s are a day that most folks dread….but, today was another incredible experience!!
We met the group at 7:15 am (9:15 eastern time for those inquiring minds) to load up to take the ride up the mountain to the Blossom Creek training facility. Each morning we begin our day at the farm with a devotional led by a different team member. This morning we studied Matthew 23, “the 7 woes to the Scribes and Pharisees”. As our group gets even more comfortable together as a team, this morning’s discussion was especially sweet and life giving.
After a hearty breakfast, we got right to work in our respective areas. Some went further up the mountain to continue working on the new house being built in honor of Beth Mathis, while others stayed at the training center to stay the course to complete various projects to finish up this space for future ministry opportunities.
Even sweeter was listening to our ladies team prepare for an afternoon “Tea Party” for the women and children in the community. By 3:00 this afternoon, ladies and their young children came from all over the mountain to enjoy this time of worship and fellowship.
Since we’re in the midst of the rainy season here in Honduras, all of the outside work abruptly ceased as the monsoon like rains moved in right around 4:00. David, Harman, and some of their local ministry team members took all of our guests home to their families so they didn’t have to walk back in the weather.
Once all of the trucks came back, another amazing dinner that was prepared by David’s wife, Megan, was ready for us. After we cleaned and packed up, we loaded back onto our trusty vehicles and made it back to D&D for the rest of the evening.
2nd to serving these families for the sake of the Lord, is the sweet time we get to share “after hours” at the wi-fi hub. Where relationships are deepened, and seeds are planted as we are woven together into the story of Blossom Creek.
So far, this experience is proving to be absolutely life-changing in so many ways…
